In a recent survey, three out of five Colorado teachers said they have students who regularly come to school hungry. Our School Food Pantry program works to address this problem. We partner with schools throughout Weld County who have high numbers of hungry students and we provide them with food to start their own pantry. The food is available not only to provide breakfast if a child comes to school hungry, but also for hungry families to take when they pick a child up from school. We currently have nine pantries in Milliken, Fort Lupton, Frederick, Mead, Platteville, Gilcrest, Windsor, LaSalle and Kersey.
