Give Time

Here’s a brief segment from Denver 7 about our current need for volunteers, and how it could impact our operations.

We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities at Weld Food Bank. Due to COVID-19, we are temporarily changing how individuals and groups sign up to volunteer. Simply follow one of the links below to sign up for you or your group. New days and times are added every Tuesday, so continue to check the links for additional opportunities.

The minimum age to volunteer is 8 and anyone under the age of 18 must have an adult accompany them while volunteering.

If you need any assistance signing up, please contact Aidan Smith at [email protected] or call 970-356-2199 x307.

Weekday Volunteering
The following tasks are available at various times throughout the day:

  • Food Distribution– Pack carts and take them to client’s cars.
  • Food Pack– Help with the need of the day which may include sorting and bagging various produce, building food boxes, or assembling Backpack bags.

Evening Volunteering
For individuals who are unable to join us during the weekday, we offer occasional evening volunteer opportunities from 5-7pm on select days. During this time you will help us with the need of the day which may include sorting and bagging produce, building food boxes, or assembling Backpack bags.

Saturday Volunteering
On the fourth Saturday of every month, Weld Food Bank opens for an additional distribution. Volunteers help us pack carts and take the food to client’s cars, and sort and bag produce. There are two three-hour shifts available every Saturday distribution.

Mobile Food Pantry Volunteering
Our Mobile Food Pantry travels to sites around Weld County to distribute healthy, perishable foods such as produce, meat and dairy. Our sites are currently in a drive thru model where clients stay in their vehicles. We need volunteers at these sites to help load food into clients’ cars.

“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”
-Elizabeth Andrew

Weld Food Bank understands the importance of volunteers. The men and women who give of their time to help in our warehouse, deliver food to seniors, stand out in the rain at a Mobile Food Pantry, and countless other acts of kindness do so because they have a heart for what we do. Our success is dependent upon those individuals. We invite you to consider volunteering at Weld Food Bank.

If you have questions about volunteering, please contact Aidan Smith at [email protected] or call 970-356-2199.
