Assets common to estate gifts include:

  •       Cash
  •       Publicly Traded Securities
  •       Retirement Plan Assets
  •       Personal Residence or Vacation Home
  •       Other Real Estate
  •       Life Insurance Policies
  •       Closely Held Stock
  •       Family Limited Partnership Interests
  •       Collections or Other Items of Value

There are several ways to make an estate gift:

  •       Bequest (Will or Living Trust)
  •       Beneficiary Designation (Life Insurance or IRA)
  •       Charitable Remainder Trust
  •       Charitable Lead Trust
  •       Retained Life Estate

Information to consider when estate planning:

  •  A Bequest through a Will or Living Trust is flexible, allowing for future changes and preserving your control over your financial assets for life. Bequests are simple and cost effective.
  • Beneficiary Designations provide similar advantages to Bequests.
  • In some situations, a Charitable Remainder (or Lead) Trust can offer powerful income and tax benefits.
  • A Retained Life Estate allows you to donate a residence to Weld Food Bank while keeping the right to live there for the rest of your life.
