In Weld County, nearly 58,000 individuals a year access one of Weld Food Bank’s seven direct service programs or over 70 nonprofit agency partners. However, during this COVID-19 pandemic that number is certainly much higher. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have served nearly twice as many people as normal. The reasons differed but common themes quickly emerged: lost jobs, unexpected medical bills, and increased food costs with children being home.
This pandemic has caused us to rethink food drives as it is unsafe to be congregating outside local grocery stores at this time. So, we are pleased to introduce our Virtual Food Drive! From the comfort and safety of your home you can still help provide food to support our hunger relief efforts. The best part is we’ll do the shopping for you!
Your financial donation through this food drive will go towards the greatest need at the time, but we guarantee that every dollar will go towards ensuring our hungry neighbors receive the food they need!
If you would like to hold your own virtual food drive, please call Weston Edmunds at 970-356-2199 x320 or email him here.
